Math of Motherhood

2 pees in the potty PLUS 2 pees in underpants PLUS 3 requests for a diaper PLUS 1 little boy who is scared to poop in the potty EQUALS not the most successful day of potty training.

Oh well. He still looks really cute in his little tiny underpants.

Commitment, from you, is the key as you know. So worth it. I LOVE being diaper free after all these years.

it all comes down to bribing. Dylan gets a dum dum when he goes potty. It's quite funny, because now when he goes potty he'll yell "I get dum dum", but when I give him one, he's not that interested.

I've also heard to put a drop of food coloring in the toilet and let him see what color it changes to when he goes potty.

good luck!

We had the same problem with M. She was scared to poop in the potty and NONE of the incentives (ranging from chocolate to a brand new baby doll the first time she did it) were enough to motivate her FOR MONTHS. In fact, she was so afraid of pooping at all that she would constipate herself by holding it in and we had to break out the Pedia Lax (fun times). Finally, on Friday Kevin gave her half of one of the fiber tabs that he takes. It looks and tastes like a sweettart and it worked like a charm. She's pooped by herself every day since then. I don't want to jinx myself, but we may have turned a corner here.
