A little bit funny looking, but it works

J built this train track yesterday. I was impressed. He did it all on his own. It is a little bit funny looking, but it works.

I kept looking at it because the shape reminded me of something. I couldn't figure it out.

But then I realized, it is shaped like N's head:

Poor N has a crooked head from his Torticollis. Because he preferred to look to one side, whenever he sleeps on his back all the pressure goes on one side of his head. So his head is misshapen. It has actually improved a lot since he started therapy for his neck. In fact, he has graduated from physical therapy because there is no sign of the Torticollis now. Unfortunately, his head is still misshapen. Our next step will be to decide if we want to get him one of these. I'm torn. We will see.

It's funny looking, but it works.

Awww, it really is quite common I think. I know one of my co-worker's sons has it.
And I think the one with the flowers on the website is adorable! How long would he have to wear it?

That is a remarkable resemblance! I agree, it is becoming really common to see kids with the helmet to help the head become more rounded. I have two close friends that did it with their babies. I think he looks fine. I never would have noticed until you pointed it out. I love the train tracks, too cute!

Hahahaha! Leave it to a mom...

I don't think there's anything wrong with the slight asymmetry, but as a mom, I'd be worried that he would feel bad about it later. I'd probably try to correct it.

Haley!! First off, the head-shaped train track is hilarious - it's so dead-on! Second, Fin also had torticollis and head thing and he also went thru physical therapy. By the time he graduated they measured his head and he was close enough to not need the Starband. If he had needed one I know it would have been a tough decision so I understand what you're going through.
